![]() ![]() It was an independent point brought against havoc squad. For it to be a strawman I'd have to have made it out that the comment i was replying to had spoken about technology. Havoc Squad faces a more dangerous and deadly opponent than Clone Commandos squads face on their day to day operations (and with the Battle of Geonosis that Clone Commandos are not an excellent choice for standard combat in which clone partake in). ![]() In terms of training for SpecForce “it is often said that trainees are expected to perform tasks alone that would normally require an entire platoon.” We even see several times over that there are Republic Troopers that are trained and specialized for taking on Sith within the battlefield (and good luck trying to make an argument for Clone troopers being superior to the average Sith of this era). They took entire planets.” -Darth Lachris “This is how they did it during the war-multiple strike teams, strategic objectives, one Jedi per military squad. Stating it as an excuse for Havoc being inferior is strawmanning as you can not prove that blaster technology or armor technology of the CWs is in anyway superior to SWTOR era blaster and armor technology. Tech gap difference is undefinable, and per SWTOR era it is heavily implied that technology had a dark age inbetween that and the Clone Wars. ![]() The Old Republic tech seems more sophisticated tho (which is explained by the Republic dark age) so with assault canons, electro staffs and more prominent personal shields they could bridge the gap a little. They have extreme independence like Alphas, acces to super high end gear and experimental technology, as well as high squad cooperation and specialization (Commandos) and almost superhuman performance (Nulls), they also consist of diffent races and are supplemented by droids including heavy battle and war units that are essentialy walking artillery.īut that is just a small portion of the Old Republic army and the standardised units wear much less high tech armour and use more basic weaponry, they would likely not be able to take on force users. But the armoured spec op units like Havoc Squad would highly outperform the clones, being more akin to a mix of commandos, Null ARCs and Alpha ARCs at the same time. Yes and no, the average clone trooper would pobably perform better than an average Old Republic trooper. ![]()
